IBP Summer Party to tackle the big questions on AI

The IBP Summer Party is on Wednesday 29 July 2026. The last few tickets are available here.

Picking up the themes started at last year's party, the 'business' part of this event will include a deep dive on how AI is directly impacting built environment journalism and PR right now, the challenges and opportunities it presents, and the ethical complexities. Some property and construction media are fully embracing AI's potential - but others are wary, worried about a proliferation of 'AI slop' or directly having to tackle AI fakes.

Come and listen to a wide range of experience, insights and emerging best practice from:

• Colin Marrs, editor of Construction News with 30 years of journalism experience on a variety of built environment and public sector titles

• Dominic Ponsford, editor-in-chief of Press Gazette and founder of the British Journalism Awards, Future of Media Awards and Future of Media Technology Conference

• Jonathan Prynn, national media journalist

• Chris Stokel-Walker, journalist and communicator specialising in tech, AI, and digital culture

• Bethany Wheatley, managing director in FTI Consulting’s digital and insights team

The 'social' part of the party will then begin - drinks, nibbles and great company. You'll want to wear your best networking shoes :)
