IBP Awards 2025 - the full roundup
The winners of the 2025 IBP Awards have been announced, recognising outstanding journalism across the built environment sector.
Held at The Building Centre on Thursday 27 November, the awards recognised excellence across architecture, construction, housing, property and infrastructure journalism, highlighting the vital role the media plays in shaping understanding of the built environment.
Among the winners, Melissa York, assistant property editor at The Times and The Sunday Times, was named IBP Journalist of the Year. She was recognised for three standout stories that uncovered complex policy and financial anomalies while bringing to life the human stories behind them. The judges praised her ability to combine rigorous investigation with clarity, narrative flair and real-world impact
York also won Housing and Residential Property Journalist of the Year, while nine category winners and a number of highly commended journalists were recognised for their contributions to built environment journalism.
