Calls for construction managers to take a more pro-active role in the design of what they build have become increasingly loud – this open debate will look at how this could work in practice.

Construction professionals, architects and members of the Cabinet Office committee, looking at new models of procurement, will come together to discuss a new Code of Practice: Integrated Design & Construction – Single Responsibility,

There will be a short opening statement by the author: Colin Harding BSc Tech Hons, Chartered Construction Manager and past President CIOB. Colin was also a member of both the Latham review working group and of the ‘Movement for Innovation’ implementing Sir John Egan’s ‘Rethinking Construction’.

There will be an open discussion in the form of a Q&A session with a broad based audience drawn from the built environment.
