The Annual Wren Talk:
Thursday 28th October at 7pm
London after Covid: How fast will the city recover and how might it change?

Professor Tony Travers (above right), Visiting Professor in the LSE Department of Government and Director of LSE London, will deliver the 10th Annual Wren Talk.

While the London plague of 1665/66 was very different to the Covid-19 there are some parallels. After the plague and Great Fire, Wren produced his grand plan for re-building the capital, never achieved, but he did create a legacy of churches, of which St Bride’s is an example. What might the built environment and governance consequences of the pandemic be for London today?

Professor Travers’ key research interests include local and regional government, elections and public service reform. He is frequently consulted by policy-makers and has advised a range of select committees and think tanks.

The Talk and Q&A session will be chaired by Paul Finch (above left), Programme Director of the World Architecture Festival.

To book your place to attend in person, with St Bride’s formatted to meet current Covid-19 guidelines.. Click here to register:
