CAPSIG AGM |
The CAPSIG AGM will be held on Thursday 26 March 2015 at the CIPR headquarters, 52-53 Russell Square, London WC1B 4HP. Registration will open at 6pm with the AGM starting at around 6.15pm.
|
Immediately after formal business is concluded, CAPSIG will be hosting a panel discussion on Diversity in Construction and PR – diversity being a key challenge for both sectors.
|
In construction, women make up just 12% of the workforce, 10% are aged between 19 and 24, and about 5% are from a non-white background. Around 400,000 will retire in the next decade and the industry already faces severe skills shortages. |
In PR, the 2015 CIPR State of the Profession report highlighted that men in public relations are on average paid £8,483 more than women, as a result of their gender alone. |
Discussing these and related issues will be a panel including:
- Liz Male MBE FCIPR (former CAPSIG chair, now chair of Trustmark UK and a member of the government’s Construction Leadership Council)
- Elaine Knutt (editor, Construction Manager)
- Prof Tony Ford (vice-chair of the Construction Industry Council's diversity panel)
