ACCIDENT OR ARTIFICE? DESIGNING A CAPITAL FROM WREN TO ABERCROMBIE

In one of his first public speaking engagements since stepping down as Chief Executive of English Heritage, Simon Thurley will deliver this years Wren Talk, which takes place, as part of the London Festival of Architecture programme, on Wednesday 10th June at St Bride's, Fleet Street at 7pm.

Simon will take a broad historical perspective on the planning of London from the Great Fire to the Blitz. He asks what are the defining characteristics of London's growth and how have they contributed to the city we have today. What makes London like the other great European capitals and what sets it apart?

Paul Finch, editorial director of The Architects' Journal and Senior Hon Vice President of IBP will introduce The Wren Talk and facilitate a Q&A session with the audience.
